Education has been bombarded with negativity…. not enough money, not enough help.  And for schools in the city of Reading, this is even more magnified. It could be easy to just say that it’s a lost cause.  Or can we do something to help?

Crossroads Kidz Ministry has a heart to bridge the gap and provide support to these schools because we know our calling is to serve children and families everywhere.

We are launching a community initiative called “Crossroads XP” to support character education in the local public school system.

Crossroads has already partnered with 10th and Penn and with Olivet Boys and Girls Club in Reading to be a consistent presence and support for their staff and students.

Here are some of the things we are hoping to provide:

·      Visit the students and staff at 10th and Penn on the first Friday of the month to provide a school assembly that reveals and defines each month’s new character trait.
·      Purchase and pilot the Core Essentials Character Education Curriculum
·      Purchase supplemental materials for the school as listed on the curriculum’s Media List (i.e. books, videos, etc.)
·      Support the teaching faculties with teacher appreciation (breakfasts, encouragement, and needed classroom resources)
·      Provide snacks and notes of encouragement for the 280+ students at 10th and Penn during this year’s PSSA testing.

Here’s how you can partner with us:

·      Commit to pray for the students and staff at 10th and Penn and Olivet Boys and Girls Clubs as well as our Crossroads XP team here at GT.
·      Provide a corporate or individual financial sponsorship to enable us to provide the support and materials the program requires.
·      Come out for a volunteer night on Wednesday, March 13 at 7 pm in Room 208 where we will be assembling hundreds of care packages for the students at 10th and Penn for their PSSA testing.

You can learn more about Crossroads XP today after the service at the display in the Atrium.
